The Silver Leaf Senior Home was founded by Hal Jesse in 1978 to provide area seniors with assistance with their daily living needs in a comfortable, home-type atmosphere with twenty-four hour supervision. Over the past thirty years the facility has grown, not only in size and reputation, but also in the hearts of their residents as a wonderful place to call home. The Silver Leaf Senior Home bridges the gap between assisted living and a nursing home by offering individualized care and assistance in a safe and comfortable home-style family atmosphere. We provide our residents with assistance with all their daily living activities, such as eating, bathing, grooming, dressing, ambulation, supervision of medication, laundry, and housekeeping. We feature fully furnished private and semi-private rooms, a spacious living room, dining and lounge areas, and an outside patio overlooking our scenic two acre wooded lot.
Licensed and certified by the State of Ohio, we give our residents top quality care and attention, and love them just like members of our own family. We are serviced by Visiting Physicians, a podiatrist, and a beautician for the convenience of our residents. Our facility employs a state-of-the-art air filtration system developed by NASA to remove odors, chemicals, pollen, and dust from the air, providing considerable relief for residents suffering from many types of breathing difficulties. Residents are encouraged to personalize their rooms with their own furniture and mementos, and each of our bathrooms are equipped with safety bars and an emergency call system.
Hal is a gourmet cook and takes pride in the food we serve to our residents. Last Sunday we had duck and dumplings, on Fridays we have a fish fry, on Memorial Day we served buffalo burgers, and our chili is out of sight. Our homemade pizza is better than what you will find at many pizzerias, and our residents' families will often stay for supper while they are visiting and frequently request copies of Hal's recipes.
