Verite Stained Glass

After graduating from high school, Sheree Ferrato-Keron studied at the Cleveland Institute of Art (CIA) and Cooper Art School. Although her major was commercial photography, she had little interest in becoming a wedding photographer or commercial artist. In 1979 she met acclaimed glass artist Narcissus Quagliata and began serving an apprenticeship with him in San Fransisco, studied at Bullseye Glass Co., and has attended seminars in glass fusing hosted by Glass Horizons. In 1975, Sheree founded Verité Stained Glass, Inc. where she continues to practice a variety of wonderful glass forms. Verité Stained Glass, Inc. offers classes in stained glass, copper foil technique, lead channel process, and kiln work, torch work (bead making), sandblasting, and mosaics We do create commissioned stained glass panels and customized pieces of artwork, although our primary focus is on providing instruction to those interested in learning the fine art of glass making.

I have been an instructor at Kobe Steel and Ford Motor Company's career development programs. During the time I taught at Kobe Steel, my students came in during their free time over the summer to create nine stained glass windows that were funded by the company and donated to the Avon Public Library. The names of all the participating students are sandblasted on the ninth window at the library. We also donated the Velveteen Rabbit window to the South Lorain Library.

I teach at the local schools here in Avon, and we have donated a kiln to the Avon High School which has been incorporated into the curriculum. I have also taught a satellite educational program for students from ninth through twelfth grade who created a spectacular fused piece which we donated to the North Ridgeville Library System.
