Brothers Ron and Craig Heldorfer have shared an interest in good food and wine for many years. In December 1992, they founded a new restaurant in Avon Lake to celebrate their love of Italian cuisine. Fratello is the Italian word for brother, so Craig and Ron appropriately named their new venture Fratello's. We visited with Ron and Craig recently, and listened as they provided this overview of the food, wine, and hospitality awaiting you at Fratello's;

Fratello's is a seventy seat, full-service restaurant and lounge specializing in Italian cuisine complete with a very affordable wine list. Italian food is very versatile. It can be very simple or very elaborate, but it always sets the stage for an enjoyable experience. Likewise, our restaurant is a white linen tablecloth establishment with an atmosphere that is elegant, warm, and intimate, while still remaining casual and informal.

Our specialties include a nice variety of veal entrees, in addition to chicken, fresh fish and seafood, pasta, vegetarian entrees, and nightly specials. Our Marinara Sauce is a meatless red sauce, and our Fratello Sauce, seen throughout our menu, is a simple, yet very flavorful lemon butter sauce lending itself equally to chicken, veal, shrimp, and artichokes. Other popular entrees include linguini with clam sauce, mussels, clams, and calamari. Our wine list is one of the finest in the area, the quality of our food is second-to-none, our portions are generous, and the prices are always reasonable.

We are primarily a walk-in restaurant, although we do accept reservations for parties of five or more. We are the perfect destination for celebrating special occasions, both business and personal, and our guests include a combination of people stopping by on the way home from work and those on their way to the symphony.

All of our menu items are available for carry-out, and we provide on and off-site catering service, as well. Our top quality staff has been with us for years, and they invite you to come, enjoy the food, and have a nice glass of wine. You won't be disappointed!
