Michael Francus, owner of Larchwood Village, inherited his interest in providing long-term care and skill nursing services from his father, a physician practicing in the State of Maryland and the owner of several nursing homes. Michael, an attorney and Licensed Nursing Home Administrator (LNHA), has followed in his father's footsteps by purchasing seven skilled nursing and rehab centers throughout Cuyahoga, Lake, Medina, and Summit Counties, the latest addition being Larchwood Village in Cleveland.

When Thomas C. Williams, LNHA retired from his position as the CEO of a local bank, he decided to start a second career and health care became his new found passion. He worked for one of the leaders in the retirement home industry where he was charged with the turnaround of the company's inner city facility in Baltimore, MD. During his interview for the Administrator's position at Larchwood Village, Tom discovered that Michael's father had been the original owner of property in Maryland where he had worked. We met with Tom recently, and listened as he provided this overview of Larchwood Village's services and offerings;

Larchwood Village is a dually certified skilled nursing nd rehabilitation center and an independent living facility. Larchwood Village offers skilled nursing care and rehabilitation services to residents ranging from 35 to 100 years of age. Our mission is to move into the next level of healthcare and meet the needs of today's generation by providing services in a much more home-like and comfortable environment. While we do provide long-term care, the majority of our residents are here short-term as they regain their independence by taking advantage of our rehabilitation services after sustaining injuries or having surgery.

Our independent living facilities offer apartment-style living in a secure environment. We provide our independent living residents with laundry and food service, in addition to many activities, outings, and socialization services.

We also provide skilled nursing services, including physical, speech, and occupational therapy. Many of our residents have recently been released from the hospital, and need time to recuperate before returning home safely. We assess their physical, mental, social, and psychological needs, factor in their strengths, and develop an individualized plan that will enable them to return to their highest level of independence.
